Monica Varney is the volunteer HR Administrative Assistant at Community Literature Initiative. She is responsible for full-cycle recruiting, onboarding and payroll. Monica earned a B.A. in English with a Psychology minor from SUNY College at Geneseo, and she attended the University of Denver Publishing Institute. Monica believes in the power of words and is grateful for this opportunity to use her 7+ years of Payroll/HR experience to support the CLI mission. She loves to dance the Bachata, dabbles in pottery and is learning how to play guitar. A daughter of immigrant parents and born in the Bronx, Monica currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two young children.
