RAFAEL-CARLO SERRATO
ASSISTANT GRANTS WRITER
Rafael serves as an assistant grant writer for the Community Literature Initiative. He received his Bachelor's degree in Comparative World Literature from California State University, Long Beach and an Associate's of Arts in Journalism from Long Beach City College. Outside the realm of the nonprofit sector, Rafael is a singer-songwriter. He wrote, recorded and produced his debut Americana/Folk album The Ferryman in 2017. The album is a melancholic ode to listlessness and lingering. All digital proceeds are donated to the charity organization, Little Kids Rock. He is currently working on two albums, Where the River Bends and Die Before Your Dreams Do.
